Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is looking to add to our Employee Relations team and has a new opportunity for a Human Resource Generalist. This position should be a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and a deep understanding of HR processes and procedures. This position will play a crucial role in implementing HR initiatives, managing employee relations, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations. The HR Generalist will advise leaders and employees of all things related to HR.

Compensation

$69,760 - $83,000

The compensation range for this role is a good faith estimate, it is estimated based on what a successful candidate might be paid. All offers presented to candidates are carefully reviewed to ensure fair, equitable pay by offering competitive wages that align with the individual's skills, education, experience, and training. The range may vary above or below the stated amounts.

What you’ll do

Partner with HRBPs and leadership to develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with organization's goals
Performs routine tasks related to administration and execution of HR programs including but not limited to performance management, productivity, morale
Provide guidance and support to leaders and employees on HR-related matters including but not limited to policy guidance, performance management, disciplinary actions, conflict resolutions, benefits, recruitment etc., referring more complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations including EEO, ADA, FMLA and FLSA
Prepares special audit and control reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
Conduct developmental follow-up sessions on HR-related topics such as harassment prevention, conflict resolution, etc.
Handle employee relations issues, including conducting investigations and recommending appropriate resolution
Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned

What you need

Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or other relevant field of study
In lieu of degree, 4+ years of proven experience in Human Resources roles with a solid understanding of employment laws and regulations
One year of Human Resources related experience
Strong interpersonal and conflict resolutions skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with tact and discretion
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement employee relations programs and initiatives that support a positive work culture
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
