ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES - Within the framework of the objectives and policies established by Caring for Others, the Director of Human Resources (HR) will plan, lead, develop, and coordinate the policies of the Caring for Family of Companies. This position will ensure legal compliance and oversee the organization, efficiency, accuracy, and cost effectiveness of employment and HR systems. Your duties will include the following:
- Ensure prompt, constant and concise internal and external communication
- Deliver HR metrics as required
- Utilize Company directed tools to maximize communication efficiency
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in HR and employment law, applying this knowledge to recommend updates to VP of HR/Talent.
- In conjunction with the VP of HR/Talent, communicate and implement evolving labor and employment laws
- Ensure appropriate and accurate workers’ comp and leave reporting
- Fully utilize all Company and partner systems to maximize efficiency
- Recommend to the HR of VP/Talent HR processes to ensure high compliance and efficient operations
- Recommend and assist the HR of VP/Talent with SOPs and How To’s for all facets and function of HR
- With corresponding screenshots and visuals to adapt into training presentations/packets
- As appropriate, update vendor board with info regarding all contracts, logins/access, costs, and partnerships
- Ensure disciplinary matters are handled promptly and efficiently according to company policy.
- Ensure terminations and offboardings are handled promptly and efficiently according to company policy
- As appropriate, conduct investigations following company policy.
- Implement risk mitigation processes as instructed.
- Establish and maintain key community contacts in industry
- Attend training and conferences as applicable for continued industry knowledge.
- Understand rules and regulations governing comprehensive licensing and contracts
- Conduct quarterly overtime analysis and develop an appropriate plan
- Recommend salary adjustments
- Ensure employee garnishments are immediately routed to payroll through the payroll ticketing process.
- Recommend employee handbook updates as appropriate
- Recommend and implement HR Policies in alignment with labor laws
- In conjunction with the VP of HR and Talent, implement Performance Measurement and Evaluation Instruments
- Working with the VP of HR and Talent, develop, update and implement Termination and Separation/Severance Documents
- Working with the VP of HR and Talent, develop, update and implement Performance Improvement Plan Documents
- Utilize Naming Conventions and Storage SOPs for Drafting and Storing Documents
- Input accurate, comprehensive, timely, continuous performance documentation and notes within HRIS
- Train staff on accurate, comprehensive, timely, continuous performance documentation and notetaking within HRIS
- Regularly audit HRIS for compliant, accurate, comprehensive notes
- Responsible for the direct supervision, professional development, regular trainings, retention, and performance management of the HR staff, including Branch HR/CRMs, ensuring adherence to Company policies and employment regulations.
- Management and weekly oversight of direct reports’ tasks and areas of responsibility
- Project tracking and management of direct reports’ tasks
- Conduct weekly staff evaluations to provide coaching and accountability - and to improve performance and maintain high standards.
- Develop contingency plans for every position throughout department, facilitating organizational stability throughout transition or absences
- Excellent verbal and written skills in English required.
- Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Thorough knowledge of best practices for handling PHI as governed by HIPAA.
- Experience handling highly confidential and sensitive information.
- Outstanding attention to detail, project management, documentation, organizational, and planning skills.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with a commitment to reach goals and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional time management abilities to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Outstanding positive attitude with the ability to grasp and embrace the company's overall goals and objectives and portray them to customers and staff. Able to work well with others in a collaborative and respectful manner.

- Experience recruiting for both executive, administrative, and service roles
- Ability to lead organizational changes through updating policies/procedures or laws and regulations.
- Comfortable utilizing office equipment, including software (MS Office, Excel, etc…)
- Ability to think from a strategic perspective, with problem solving, forecasting, and analysis skills
- Previous experience with HRIS / ATS technology and software
- Strong working knowledge of recruitment and employment practices and laws
- Ability to work in a fast-paced setting with high expectations and multiple deadlines
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Organizational Psychology, Human Resources, or Business Management.
- PHR or SHRM certification preferred.
- High level of emotional intelligence, risk forecasting, and analysis.
- 5+ years of relevant Human Resources leadership experience
- Extensive knowledge of regulations, current practices, and applicable employment laws.
