Job Title: Director of Human Resources
Summary:
1915 South | Ashley is seeking a Director of Human Resources to lead HR operations and serve as a key partner in talent development. This role is responsible for developing and implementing strategic HR initiatives that support the growth and performance of our retail sales associates, distribution center associates, and delivery teams. The ideal candidate will ensure HR functions are aligned with business objectives while fostering a culture of employee engagement, development, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and execute strategic HR initiatives aligned with the 1915 South | Ashley business goals.
2. Partner closely with retail and distribution leaders to ensure 1915 South | Ashley is a destination workplace for retail talent and a system exists to anticipate and fulfill staffing and talent needs.
3. Lead workforce planning to forecast labor requirements and maintain optimal staffing levels.
4. Design and implement talent development and training programs in partnership with functional leaders in sales, operations, merchandising, marketing and distribution centers.
5. Advise leaders at all levels, enhancing leadership effectiveness and organizational performance.
6. Champion employee engagement initiatives, ensuring a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture.
7. Oversee succession planning to identify, develop, and retain high-potential employees across retail and distribution operations.
8. Ensure HR compliance with all employment laws, policies, and labor relations requirements.
9. Partner on performance management and compensation strategies to drive employee retention and reward excellence.
10. Leverage HR analytics and workforce data to inform strategic decisions and improve organizational effectiveness.
Qualifications & Experience:
· 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably in retail.
· Strong knowledge of HR best practices, workforce planning, and talent development.
· Proven experience in leading HR strategy, coaching leaders, and driving business impact.
· Deep understanding of HR compliance, labor laws, and employee relations.
· Excellent communication, leadership, and change management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience working in multi-location retail and/or distribution environments.
· Strong data-driven approach to HR analytics and decision-making.
