Summary of position: As an HR Generalist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our HR department by managing various functions including recruitment (60-70% of your time), employee relations (20% of your time), compensation administration (5%), and benefits administration (5% except at open enrollment). You will support 3 businesses composing less than 50 employees total- one of which is Biopeptek (a CDMO with ~ 25 employees) as well as our sister companies that are all within life sciences (one is a startup with 4 employees, and one is a small business with ~10 employees). You may also occasionally help the HR Director with any operations work that she gets pulled into - such as real estate (leases for our offices), insurance (workers comp + business insurance) and any related operations work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in recruitment processes including job postings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and onboarding new employees.
- Support employee relations by addressing employee inquiries, resolving conflicts, and providing guidance on HR policies and procedures.
- Manage performance review processes and provide support to managers in implementing employee development plans.
- Oversee employee benefits enrollment and communicate benefits information to staff.
- Maintain HR records, including employee files and training documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Implement and improve HR policies and programs in alignment with company goals.
- Participate in HR projects and initiatives, including employee engagement and wellness programs.
- Stay current on HR trends and best practices to update policies as necessary.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Human Resources
- 4+ years of experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar HR role.
- Strong understanding of HR practices, employment laws (PA, NY, CA, MD, DE, TX), and regulations.
- Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
