About the role:
As a Benefits Analyst at Nextep, you'll play a key role in the performance of our benefit plans. Your day-to-day will involve:
- Serving as a subject matter expert on Nextep’s comprehensive Benefit Plan offerings.
- Providing backup support to our Strategic Benefit Specialist in discussions with prospective and current clients.
- Qualifying potential and existing Nextep clients for our master medical plan, recommending comparable plans and pricing during the underwriting process.
- Adjusting rate bands within program guidelines and issuing final pricing.
- Assisting with the thorough review of benefit plan performance metrics, including membership, participation, enrollment waivers, and compliance.
- Utilizing internal software to conduct and support client-level plan audits and generate insightful reports.
- Actively participating in and recommending improvements to benefits plan design, administration processes, and regulatory compliance practices.
- Collaborating closely with management to design, implement, and optimize our medical, dental, vision, life insurance plans, and other voluntary benefit options.
- Contributing to the review of internal and external benefit communications, notifications, and tools aimed at marketing our offerings, enhancing employee understanding, and driving enrollment.
About you:
We're looking for someone with a solid foundation in benefits and a desire to grow. Ideally, you'll have:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is preferred.
- Three or more years of progressive experience in benefits, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Direct experience with benefit design, analysis, and administration, preferably with multi-state employers and a benefits-eligible population of 2,000+ employees.
- A general understanding of HRIS Payroll Systems and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in the administration, compliance, and regulatory aspects of health insurance.
- (Preferred) A Health and Life Insurance license.
- (Preferred) Certified Benefits Professional (CBP and/or GBA, RPA) certification.
