Summary
The Human Resources Director will be responsible for ensuring compliance with various legislation and administering corporate plans for a variety of HR matters such as compensation, benefits, training, and health and safety. The HR Manager will also be responsible for promoting employee engagement and for partnering with company leaders in employee development.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business, or related field; HR certification preferred, but not required
Experience:
Minimum 5 years experience in HR or a combination of education and experience, manufacturing HR experience highly preferred.
Essential Functions:
Develop and administer various human resources plans, policies and procedures, work with corporate HR as necessary
Manage the preparation and maintenance of personnel records and reports, employee handbooks, orientation materials, and job descriptions
Partner with business unit leaders in fostering an environment of high employee engagement
Partner with business unit leaders to develop employees and create advancement opportunities
Continually work on improving employee retention rates
Oversee combined payroll, benefits and HRIS system
Coordinate and facilitate recruiting, onboarding, training and development, and employee engagement initiatives
Work with corporate HR and business unit leadership to develop benefits strategy and review annually
Manage all aspects of benefits administration to include annual open enrollment, wellness programs, retiree programs, 401k administration, and necessary communications
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions
Advise managers on all employee relations issues including investigations of complaints, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
Manage employment claims and litigation and work with corporate legal counsel when appropriate
Oversee and maintain leave management programs, including FMLA, WC and STD
Perform various related duties as required and assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must be detail oriented and be able to prioritize tasks
Must be familiar with applicable Knowledge of State and Federal laws, rules and regulations pertaining to labor, benefits, and compensation.
Ability to effectively communicate with, and be a resource to, all levels of employees including factory and office hourly and non-exempt associates, middle and senior management.
Must be flexible, resilient, and able to keep focus in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
Must have payroll experience and knowledge of payroll and HRIS programs
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail
