Role: Human Resources Director
Salary: $130,000 - $150,000/annually
Location: Downtown, Manhattan - *5 days a week onsite*
Job Description: Human Resources Director
Position Summary: The Human Resources Director will play a critical role in driving our organization's success by providing strategic leadership and operational excellence in all aspects of human resources management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing HR functions within a unionized or educational environment.
Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Leadership:- Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Advise senior leadership on HR policies, procedures, and initiatives.
- Oversee the development and implementation of HR metrics to measure performance and identify areas for improvement.
Union Relations:- Effectively manage and negotiate labor contracts with unions.
- Resolve labor disputes and grievances in a timely and fair manner.
- Maintain strong relationships with union representatives.
Talent Acquisition and Management:- Develop and implement effective talent acquisition strategies to attract and recruit top talent.
- Oversee onboarding, training, and development programs to enhance employee skills and performance.
- Manage employee relations and address performance issues in a professional and timely manner.
Compensation and Benefits:- Develop and administer competitive compensation and benefits packages.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations.
- Manage employee leaves of absence and disability claims.
HR Operations:- Oversee the day-to-day HR operations, including payroll, benefits administration, and recordkeeping.
- Implement and maintain HR systems and databases.
- Ensure compliance with HR best practices and industry standards.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior HR leadership role within a unionized or educational environment.
- Proven track record in managing all aspects of HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and HR operations.
- Strong knowledge of labor relations and collective bargaining.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with employees, managers, and union representatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with HR information systems and software.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:- Experience working in a non-profit or public sector organization.
- Certification in Human Resources Management (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR).
