Overview
The Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) plays a key role in executing the organization's HR strategy and addressing business needs. The HRBP will implement and communicate HR policies, ensuring compliance and alignment across the company. This role supports managers by delivering HR operations that provide the talent and performance necessary to achieve business goals. The HRBP also participates in key management meetings and projects as required. A successful HRBP must be diplomatic, assertive, proactive, and skilled at building relationships at all levels within the company.
Responsibilities
The HRBP will conduct employee onboarding and coordinate orientation sessions, develop and administer performance reviews, and manage employee benefits programs such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k). They will maintain employee files and records, conduct exit interviews, and manage termination procedures. Additionally, the HRBP will oversee HRIS administration in collaboration with the Executive Vice President.
The HRBP ensures compliance with labor laws (FMLA, ADA, EEOC, TWC, FFCRA), maintains and updates HR documents, processes and documents claims for benefits programs, and conducts monthly audits of benefits provider invoices. They will foster trust and open communication at all levels, focus on employee retention and job satisfaction, organize team-building activities, manage celebrations and announcements, and visit terminals to engage with employees.
In recruitment support, the HRBP will assist with recruiting by working with Division Managers to identify staffing needs, create recruitment ads for social media with the Executive Vice President, manage job board postings, expenses, and applicant tracking systems, and communicate with candidates including calls, follow-ups, and interview scheduling. The HRBP will also lead and manage special HR projects, oversee performance improvement plans, employee coaching, quarterly review programs, training, surveys, suggestion box, and recognition programs.
Education, Experience, and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) preferred.
7-10 years of experience in a Human Resource role.
Knowledge of US labor law compliance and standard HR practices.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong data analytical skills, process-oriented, and detail-oriented.
Strong business acumen.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (intermediate to advanced level).
Experience with PAYCOMM preferred.
