Position Summary:
Hillwood Investments Properties (HIP) is seeking an experienced
Vice President (VP) of Business Operations to join our dynamic and growing U.S. Operations team in Dallas, TX. Reporting to the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Operations and Data Management, the VP will be instrumental in refining and enhancing our operational processes. This individual will be responsible for ongoing operational initiatives including data management, investment valuations, streamlining lease approval processes, managing compensation programs, and leading special projects. The VP will supervise a dedicated team and collaborate across various business functions, including Human Resources, Capital Markets, Development, Legal, Acquisitions and Dispositions, and Accounting to drive operational excellence and achieve strategic objectives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the operations team, ensuring alignment with HIP’s overall business objectives and needs.
- Enhance and develop operational processes that drive efficiency, reporting and financial performance.
- Manage HIP’s compensation arrangements, including the administration of short-term and long-term incentive programs.
- Active involvement overseeing co-investment arrangements associated with managed assets.
- Coordinate and manage the year-end compensation process with C-Suite, business leaders and human resources.
- Actively participate in and help lead the annual budget process; coordinate between the different functional business units and leaders to gather necessary information and review inputs for accuracy.
- Oversee the asset life cycle tracking, ensuring metrics are timely and captured accurately in QuickBase, establishing database administrators and governing protocols.
- Oversee the coordination of asset valuation for Hillwood’s balance sheet and U.S. Fund products.
- Develop and manage lease approval process with proper governance; introduce and educate associates on the new process and manage its ongoing execution to ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Actively participate in HIP technology initiatives, contributing to the identification and selection of new software that facilitates triangulates data from multiple sources and enables data-driven decision-making.
- Engage and contribute to the design, development and implementation of reporting tools that provide ongoing analytics and insights into our business activities, asset performance, and the overall financial and operational performance of HIP.
- Respond to ad-hoc requests from business leaders.
- Monitor and maintain HIP critical date report files, ensure critical dates are recorded and tasks are delegated and completed by the responsible party.
- Support the Regional Market Leaders and Market Leaders with new entity formation and ad hoc business requests and operation set up, as needed.
- Support Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and SVP of Operations with onboarding and offboarding of properties, including entity set up, Property Owner Association (POA) requests, transfers and terminations.

- Strong knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint, with experience in MS Power BI and/or Tableau, and QuickBase.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop professionals.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or real estate related area; or equivalent job experience.
- Advanced degrees (MBA, CPA) a plus.
- Prior commercial real estate experience strongly preferred.
- 7-10 years’ experience working in business operations and finance required.
- Minimum of 3 years working in commercial real estate preferred.
- Strong knowledge of back-office operations, including experience with budgeting, financial analysis, forecasting and reporting.
- Experience working with financial statements, a plus.
- Previous experience working with contracts, entity formation and setup, preferred.
- Working knowledge and experience with organizational structure, a plus.
- MS office, Power BI and/or Tableau, and QuickBase required.
