Job Description: Human Resources Director - Nonprofit (Wellness Organization)
Overview:
- Report to the Executive Director and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and regulatory laws, rules, and regulations.
- Keep the Executive Director informed about changes in relevant laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience.
- Experience in a non-profit agency is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred. SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent experience.
- Proven success in driving organizational change and development.
- Strong knowledge of HR functions, including strategic planning, talent management, compensation, benefits, HRIS, employee relations, and training.
- Excellent analytical, facilitation, and communication skills.
- High emotional intelligence and ability to build strong, engaged teams.
Essential Functions:
- Lead HR efforts aligned with the company’s mission and strategic vision.
- Strong compliance background-medical leaves, CA employment laws, FLSA classifications, insurance, etc.
- Create processes through full employee life cycle.
- Develop and implement HR policies and strategies.
- Advise senior management on key organizational and HR issues.
- Create and execute succession planning with executive management.
- Ensure programs are effective and compliant with standards and internal goals.
- Develop competitive compensation and benefits plans.
- Oversee talent acquisition, career development, succession planning, and training.
- Manage HR operations including payroll, benefits, leaves, safety, and employee orientations.
- Maintain and update HR policies, including the Employee Handbook, for compliance.
- Manage employee relations, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of issues.
- Oversee benefits enrollment and educate employees on their options.
- Ensure compliance with FMLA, ADA, and workers' compensation regulations.
- Oversee the HRIS system for all HR processes.
- Maintain accurate employee records and manage performance management programs.
- Support DEI initiatives and strategies.
- Perform additional administrative tasks as needed.
