The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll and managing employee benefits administration. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and has a strong understanding of payroll systems and benefit programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing:
- Accurately process bi-weekly or monthly payroll for all employees, including calculating wages, overtime, deductions, and tax withholdings.
- Review and verify payroll data, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer payroll-related queries from employees.
Benefits Administration:
- Administer employee benefits programs including health insurance, retirement plans, and other voluntary benefits.
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and questions.
- Coordinate annual benefits open enrollment and ensure proper documentation and communication.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and benefits laws and regulations.
- Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and other required reports.
- Maintain accurate employee records and update systems with changes in employment, salary, or benefits.
Employee Support:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for payroll and benefits-related questions and concerns.
- Provide support during audits and prepare documentation as needed.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to address payroll and benefits issues.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
- Skills: Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and effective communication abilities.
