Job Title: Benefits Coordinator
Summary: Staff designated at Dickinson Wright PLLC (“the Firm”) as Benefits Coordinator are responsible for assisting with the administration and maintenance of the Firm’s various benefit programs and plans and communicating with attorneys and support staff regarding available benefits.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential duties and responsibilities of staff designated as Benefits Coordinator at the Firm include but are not limited to:
1. Enter monthly billing invoices for benefit vendors into Chrome River;
2. Audit benefit deductions for payroll;
3. Work with new hires on online benefits enrollment;
4. Send benefit separation packages to terminated employees;
5. Work with employees on family status changes;
6. Work with COBRA vendor on qualifying events and benefit changes;
7. Scan employee documents into UKG;
8. Assist employees with questions;
9. Provide backup for leaves of absences and wellness initiatives;
10. Cross-check 401(k) deferrals and loan payments in UKG;
11. Verify 401(k) contributions in record-keeping system;
12. Prepare life insurance conversion packages for benefit reductions;
13. Assist with ACA 1095 preparation;
14. Support with mailings when needed;
15. Other responsibilities as may be assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities Required:
Benefits Coordinator must:
1. Possess knowledge of benefits administration at a level normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or equivalent;
2. Possess the ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints with minimal supervision;
3. Possess interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate with a diverse group of attorneys and staff and provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact while safeguarding confidentiality;
4. Possess interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate by telephone and provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact;
5. Work occasionally requires a high level of mental effort and strain while producing a high volume of information while performing other essential duties;
6. Work occasionally requires more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position, may require irregular hours;
7. Be able to use database software, spreadsheet and word processing software and equipment to complete analysis and reports.
Working Conditions:
Normal law office environment with little exposure to noise, dust, temperature.
