Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Human Resources Professional with an understanding of the unique challenges in the construction industry to join our HR team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing various HR functions, including recruitment, compliance, and employee relations, to ensure that our workforce is skilled, safe, and engaged.
You will work closely with project managers and site supervisors to support our mission of delivering high-quality construction projects safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Recruitment and Staffing
- Manage the recruitment process tailored to the construction industry, including job postings on relevant platforms, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and coordinating selection processes for skilled labor, tradespeople, and project management roles.
- Collaborate with project managers to understand staffing needs based on project timelines and requirements.
2. Employee Onboarding
- Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they receive necessary safety training and familiarization with company policies.
- Coordinate orientations specific to the construction environment to ensure new employees understand safety protocols and regulations.
3. Employee Relations
- Serve as a trusted resource for employees and management to address and resolve workplace conflicts, with a focus on maintaining a positive team atmosphere on construction sites.
- Promote a positive workplace culture that emphasizes teamwork and safety.
4. Safety and Compliance Management
- Assist in developing and implementing safety training programs and initiatives in compliance with OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
- Monitor compliance with safety protocols and work with management to address any concerns promptly.
5. Performance Management
- Support the development and implementation of performance management processes tailored to the construction industry, including routine performance reviews and skills assessments.
- Provide guidance to managers on identifying training and development opportunities for employee growth within their roles.
6. Compensation and Benefits
- Support the administration of employee compensation programs, ensuring competitive wages for skilled trades and labor positions.
- Oversee benefits enrollment and communicate available benefits specific to the industry, such as travel allowances or certification reimbursements.
7. HR Policies and Compliance
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that comply with labor laws specific to the construction industry.
- Stay informed about changes in labor laws and regulations that may impact construction labor practices.
8. Training and Development
- Promote certification programs that enhance employee qualifications and improve job performance.
9. Reporting and Data Management
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases, ensuring compliance with regulations concerning workforce documentation.
- Prepare and analyze HR metrics, such as turnover rates and training completion, to inform decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in HR, preferably within the construction industry or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, safety regulations, and compliance standards relevant to construction.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in HR software systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a dynamic work environment.
