Description Of Duties / Essential Functions
Provides professional Human Resources support in coordinating and directing Employee Relations activities which include Grievances, Employee Concerns, EEOC Complaints, Disciplinary/Corrective Actions, Medical Separations, and Texas Public Information Act requests. Performs a variety of professional Human Resources related activities in support of the assigned departments. Consults with other HR teams in identifying, anticipating and addressing departmental HR needs.
The Senior Human Resources Generalist duties include but are not limited to:
- Maintains and promotes positive relationships among inter-office as well as inter-departmental employees.
- Advises managers and supervisors on the positive corrective action program.
- Reviews and processes recommendations of corrective actions.
- Prepares, edits, and revises correspondence, documents, and reports as required.
- Processes Grievances, Employee Concerns and ensures compliance of related rules and procedures.
- Conducts investigations of employee misconduct and determines the appropriate course of action.
- Attends Indefinite Suspensions and Medical Separations meetings.
- Attends Civil Service Commission Appeal and Unemployment Hearings.
- Develops, interprets and recommends appropriate procedures for implementing policies to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with regulations.
- Provides training to client department on HR policies and updates.
- Coordinates responses to EEOC complaints.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS: This position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc. There are no major sources of discomfort in a normal office environment.
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Requires a bachelor's degree in business administration, Social Science, Liberal Arts, or a closely related field.
Experience Requirements
Three years of related professional experience in human resources are required. Pertinent experience at the professional level may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
