Brief Description:
The
Senior Learning and Development (L&D) Instructor will be responsible for developing and implementing learning strategies and programs for employees within the organization. This position will play an integral role in facilitating existing training programs, developing new programs and coordinating training with third-party vendors using various methods of delivery, including but not limited to in-person, virtual, or e-Learning based training.

This position works under the direction of the
Director, Learning and Development.
Detailed Description
- Design and execute learning strategies and programs to support the organizations training vision and goals.
- Design and implement best in class leadership development programs to attract, retain, and develop the pipeline of talent within the organization.
- Create and design training content including training curriculum, participant guides and facilitator guides.
- Update, manage, and maintain existing training content ensuring materials are documented are up to date and stored in the shared training content filing location.
- Research effective training methods and utilize technology/industry trends to create successful in-house training programs.
- Utilize Learning Management System (LMS) to manage courses, rosters and run training reports.
- Analyze and review course evaluations to determine effectiveness of training sessions and implement suggestions for improvements.
- Build and maintain rapport with organizational leaders and key functional areas including Operations, Health Safety & Environment (HSE), Legal and Human Resources (HR). Ensuring training is aligned with the most up-to-date safety standards, procedures, practices, and policies.
- Partner with L&D team to manage the organizational training catalog and calendar and engage with the business and key functional areas to promote training classes and solicit participants.
- Work one on one or in a group setting to convey information and facilitate learning and skill development.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Ability to maintain Company confidentiality at all times, handle sensitive information and protect Company proprietary information in an appropriate manner.
- Experience delivering leadership training including diversity and inclusion training content.
- Expertise and experience with full spectrum leadership development (i.e., assessments, coaching, mentoring, experience-based development, rotations, formal customized coursework).
- Ability to organize, multi-task, prioritize and work under time-sensitive deadlines while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor when adversity and multiple initiatives/priorities are encountered.
- Proficient Microsoft Office skills, including high degree of comfort and ability using PowerPoint and other presentation/graphics software, such as Publisher and familiarity with Learning Management Systems.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship skills to work effectively in a cross functional, matrixed organization and with all levels of employees, customers, and third parties.
- Excellent communication skills which include the ability to speak, write and listen in a manner that clarifies issues, promotes closure, and delivers information in a clear and concise manner as it relates to human performance, behaviors, and skill sets.
- Effectively deliver training curriculum in a classroom and hands-on setting.
- Ability to run reports and take ownership of training initiatives from start to finish.
- Ability to work with high level of energy, flexibility, and minimal supervision, in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team; proactive, self-motivated, and self-directed.
- Skilled at preparing and presenting/facilitating effective presentations and training content.
- Possess strong problem solving, critical thinking skills, customer service, interpersonal, and relationship building skills.
- Ability to travel as needed to other offices and work sites, occasionally requiring extended travel to remote locations and/or overnight stay(s) outside normal office area.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in HR Organizational Development, Education, or related field of study.
- 5+ years’ experience in a learning and/or talent management role with specialized mastery in leadership development, program design and/or organizational development.
- 5+ years’ experience designing, developing, facilitating, and implementing training curriculum.
Preferred Qualifications
- Oil & Gas Industry training experience
- Oracle HCM or other LMS experience
- Technical Training curriculum development experience
Additional Details
Work is primarily in a climate controlled / office environment with minimal safety / health hazard potential. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, or walk with occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending and frequent near vision use for reading and use of computer, telephone, and other office equipment. May include travel to other Company offices and employee will be expected to properly use designated personal protective equipment (PPE) as may be required.
