A highly regarded law firm in is seeking a Human Resources Director to manage HR initiatives and policy at their office which is located west of Houston. This is a new role that will be responsible for evaluating current HR structure and implementing new processes and documentation as needed. This is a hybrid role that includes one home office day a week.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as the main driving force in the development and implementation of HR policy and SOPs in accordance with state and federal guidelines, to align with company goals and business culture
- Conduct recruitment effort for all non-attorney exempt and non-exempt personnel; write and manage weekly job posting strategy
- Manages new staff onboarding, career development program, employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviews
- Effectively oversee employee relations cases by conducting thorough investigations and administering a sound resolution that minimizes company exposure administration of policy as it relates to state and federal guidelines
- Development and execute learning & development opportunities for staff
- Utilize reporting tools to acquire and analyze metrics to support data driven decision-making
- Other duties as needed
REQUIREMENTS
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in Human Resources at a law firm or other professional services organization
- Thorough knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to Human Resources
- Strong understanding of change management principles, methodologies, and best practices
- Ability to implement and execute talent acquisition strategy to achieve companies staffing goals
- Must have strong analytical and critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to work with team-members at all levels of an organization
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field
- PHR or SPHR certification highly preferred
