Vice President, Training
Overview:
The Vice President of Training is a senior leadership role responsible for developing and executing the strategic direction of the company’s training and development programs. This role will oversee the creation, implementation, and continuous improvement of training initiatives that enhance employee skills, foster professional growth, and drive organizational performance. The VP of Training will collaborate with senior leaders, department heads, and external partners to ensure alignment with business goals and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and lead the company’s training and development strategy to support organizational goals and business growth.
- Align training programs with the company’s vision, mission, and core values.
- Identify and implement innovative training methodologies and technologies to enhance learning experiences.
Program Development and Management:
- Oversee the design, development, and delivery of comprehensive training programs across all levels of the organization.
- Ensure training content is current, relevant, and effectively addresses the needs of the business.
- Manage the creation of both in-house training programs and the integration of third-party training resources.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing training and development team.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, improvement, and collaboration within the team.
- Set performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with senior leadership, HR, and department heads to assess training needs and develop tailored programs.
- Partner with external training providers, consultants, and industry experts to enhance the quality and scope of training offerings.
- Act as a key advisor to the executive team on training and development-related matters.
Performance Measurement:
- Develop and implement metrics to measure the effectiveness of training programs and their impact on employee performance and business outcomes.
- Regularly report on training initiatives, outcomes, and ROI to senior management.
- Continuously assess and improve training programs based on feedback and performance data.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Manage the training and development budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Oversee the selection and management of training tools, platforms, and technologies.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, certifications, and standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in training and development, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing successful training programs in a corporate environment.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to influence and inspire others.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning platforms.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to align training strategies with organizational goals.
- Extensive pre-employment screening process.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification in training, instructional design, or a related field (e.g., CPTD, SHRM-SCP).
- Experience in change management and organizational development.
- Knowledge of industry-specific training requirements.
