We have an excellent opportunity for the right person willing to learn and grow with us in the Human Resources department. The ideal candidate will have previous Human Resources experience ideally in a construction environment, be a team player, organized, self-motivated, bi-lingual, detail-oriented, and driven to succeed.
Human Resources Generalist/Office Administrator Job duties and responsibilities:
- Help administer policies and procedures that support the company philosophy, culture, and strategic goals
- Maintain coworkers’ records, I-9 and training documents in accordance with Company and government guidelines for reporting purposes
- Responsible for Corporate Payroll processing and assisting payroll department with procedures utilizing electronic systems
- Oversee the recruitment and hiring process, including developing job descriptions, screening resumes, and conducting interviews. Support operations managers as required.
- Generate and extend offers of employment based upon the criteria provided by management
- Oversee the employee onboarding, orientation, and training programs
- Work with existing HR resources and partners to develop and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure operations are complying with federal and state regulations
- Oversee employee performance management and provide coaching and counseling to employees as needed
- Manage employee benefits & compensation programs, including health insurance and PTO
- Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with record-keeping requirements
- Manage employee relations and provide guidance and support to employees regarding employment-related issues
- Assist in the recruiting process by representing Orco Steel at Job Fairs and Career Days to engage possible future new hires
- Assist management with HR projects and initiatives
- Assist management with the coordination of injury management and employee leave
- Provide support to the annual performance management process to include goal setting, mid-year check-ins, annual appraisals, and compensation planning
- Act as a central resource to handle and support operations with their administrative or compliance needs.
- Develop and implement systems to streamline office processes
- Plan and coordinate office events and meetings, including employee onboarding, training, and company celebrations
- Manage relationships with vendors and service providers to meet company needs.
- Support company managers or upper management in various ad hoc projects
- Provide administrative support to upper management, including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, reviewing emails, and preparing reports
Human Resources Generalist/Office Administrator Job requirements:
· A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent work experience
· Bilingual – English/Spanish - Required
· Minimum of five years overall professional office management and working knowledge of human resource management
· Technologically savvy with experience working in varying software programs and online platforms, including the ability to deal with new software installations, software integration and the sharing of data between programs and departments.
· Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
· Demonstrated ability to confidentially maintain employee and company information
· Excellent ability to establish priorities, coordinate work activities, multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced dynamic work environment with accuracy and attention to detail.
· Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable business needs
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
· Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision
· Familiarity with HRIS program(s)
· Clean driving record and criminal record
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $62,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
