Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist performs duties at the professional level and carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, performance management, policies, recruiting, leaves of absence, employment, and compliance.
Job Setting:

Key Accountabilities:
- Provides consultation, support and resources to leaders on employee relations, recruiting, compensation, performance management, and employee/organization development needs.
- Coordinates Talent Acquisition activities
- Collaborates with hiring managers, HR team members and leadership to develop and align talent acquisition strategy with organizational goals and business needs.
- Develops and administers immediate and long-term recruitment plans.
- Identifies and coordinates effective and efficient recruiting strategies to source for a talented and diverse candidate pool.
- Maintain awareness of internal and external environmental factors that may impact our competitive position and value proposition. Leverages organization strengths.
- Recruitment
- Proactively develops sources for candidates using a variety of means including networking, relationship-building, referrals, postings, social media and targeted marketing.
- Represents NH + C in career fair and various recruitment and community events.
- Assesses, and screens qualified candidates for referral to hiring managers.
- Confirms selections with necessary validations and extends employment offers.
- Finalizes selection process, ensures pre-employment conditions are met and extends offers.
- Initiates on-boarding processes.
- Coordinates with HR team and NH+C leaders for successful onboarding.
- Guides Hiring Managers
- Guides hiring managers and supports them with effective selection tools and professional recommendations.
- Provides education on successful interview and reference techniques.
- Ensures compliance with legal and organizational requirements.
- Participates and guides compensation discussion to ensure internal equity and market competitiveness.
- Serves as a strategic partner to organization leaders to assist them in achieving objectives and initiatives.
- Investigates employee relations matters to formulate effective resolutions. Coordinates action plans with leaders relative to employee relations strategies.
- Provides guidance and interpretation of policies to employees and leaders, ensuring equitable, consistent, and correct application and administration of policies, and compliance with state and federal employment regulations.
- Coaches and guides managers on best practice employee relations, performance management, and other employment areas.
- Supports and serves as subject-matter expert on leave of absence administration ensuring compliance with leave laws to include ADA and FMLA.
- Guides and supports leaders in the preparation and completion of Initial and Annual Performance Reviews.
- Represents Northfield Hospital + Clinics in unemployment compensation cases and prepares responses to UC claims.
- Drafts new and updates existing Human Resources policies.
Selection Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field
- 3-5 years Human Resources experience
- Ability to coach employees and leaders through complex employee relations matters
- Ability to research and analyze data
- Master’s degree in Human Resources Management preferred
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred
Schedule:
- 80hrs/2wks
- Monday through Friday, core hours of 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
