Human Resources Manager – Houston Box Plant
Hood Container Houston is seeking a dynamic and engaged HR Leader to join our team! The HR Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating policies and programs regarding employment, compensation, benefit administration, training, and employee services for the manufacturing facility in Houston, TX. Seeking a candidate fluent speaking in English & Spanish.
Our Houston facility manufactures corrugated boxes and is rapidly growing our operations. This role will support approximately 140+ non-union hourly employees and 30+ salaried employees. This role will be the primary HR representative for the location and report to the Regional HR manager.
How You Will Contribute
- Partner with business to identify existing & future talent needs.
- Identify, develop, and implement training at all levels of the organization.
- Advise/consult multiple levels of the organization on people related issues/opportunities.
- Coordinating and participating in new hire orientation and onboarding programs.
- Developing, recommending, and implementing employment policies and procedures.
- You will handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. Including leading local investigations and audits.
- Assuring the locations employment, personnel, and equal opportunity policies and practices comply with applicable federal and state laws, including the maintenance of employee files.
- Leading and supporting HR Projects to drive HR Transformation & Innovation.
- Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Planning and coordinating company functions, as needed.
What It Takes
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, strongly preferred
- Five (5) or more years of HR Generalist experience in a manufacturing environment required
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Human Resources programs, best practices, and both federal/state employment regulations
- Experience supporting a multi-lingual workforce, Bi-lingual in Spanish required
- Experience staffing multi-shift operation and high-volume recruiting preferred
- Experience with supervisory development preferred
- Experience with ADP preferred
- Agility to effectively manage multiple projects, prioritize accordingly, and thrive in a complex, fast paced work environment
- Ability to build and maintain positive, productive relationships at all levels and geographies throughout the organization
- Exceptional listening, negotiation, influence, communication, and presentation skills
