JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Human Resources is a business partner with full ownership of and accountability for the Human Resources function in the facility. This role will ensure alignment of the Human Resources strategy and initiatives with all business objectives, serve as a source of guidance, direction and career development for employees and management, act as a liaison for the HR support center and special projects. The facility will have over 1,000 employees (including some temporary workers) across three shifts over a six-day scheduled work week, with occasional weekend and overnight work required depending on operational needs.
DESCRIPTION OF TASKS
The Director of Human Resources leads and oversees the daily workflow of the department, the Human Resources staff, and administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development, the Director of Human Resources partners in the development of recruitment strategy, sourcing techniques, and implements innovative and efficient programs to ensure the hiring, retention, development ad engagement of the best talent to maintain to maintain growth and operational excellence. The Director of Human Resources leverages analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization’s human resource information system (HRIS) and/or talent management system.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field preferred, MBA a plus
- 10+ years of Human Resources experience dealing with complex business and Human Resources issues
- Prefer Human Resources function experience within a distribution, warehouse or manufacturing facility
- Strong understanding of employment laws and HR best practices
- SHRM and/or HRCI certification preferred
Skills
- Fluent bilingual communication abilities a plus (English/Spanish)
- Strong computer proficiency required, including MS Office and Human Resource Information Systems and Talent Management Systems. ADP, Ceridian and Cornerstone a plus.
- Demonstrated presentation skills
COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position is $120k to $130k annually. The actual starting pay will be determined by a number of qualifications, including, experience and relevant skills
