Job Summary :
Explore Digits is seeking a dynamic and flexible HR Generalist to join our growing team. This role will focus on supporting various HR functions such as employee onboarding, job creation, benefits management, and compliance.
In addition, the HR Generalist will be involved in general project management tasks, people management using tools like Gusto and QuickBooks Time, and contributing to proposal work to showcase our workforce management capabilities.
Flexibility and adaptability to the needs of a fast-growing company are critical for this role.
Key Responsibilities :
- Employee Onboarding & Offboarding : Manage the entire employee lifecycle, including smooth onboarding / offboarding processes, background checks, and system setups.
- Job Creation & Tracking : Collaborate with leadership to create new job roles, maintain up-to-date job descriptions, and track recruitment efforts.
- Employee Benefits & Policy Management : Administer employee benefits, manage open enrollment periods, and ensure HR policies are compliant with relevant laws.
- Task & Work Assignment Coordination : Coordinate employee-to-task / work assignments with leadership to ensure strategic workforce alignment.
- Performance Assessment & Career Development : Support employee performance reviews, identify training opportunities, and help develop career growth paths.
- Compliance Management : Ensure full compliance with state, federal labor laws, and assist with visa sponsorship and non-USA citizen employment processes.
- HR Process Improvement : Continuously evaluate and enhance HR processes to ensure efficiency, compliance, and scalability.
- General Project Management : Provide flexibility to assist with general project management tasks as required by the business.
- People Management Tools : Utilize Gusto and QuickBooks Time to manage time tracking, payroll, and employee data efficiently.
- Proposal Support : Assist in preparing proposals to describe and showcase the company’s capability in maintaining a highly efficient and motivated workforce.
- Flexibility : Be prepared to adapt to the evolving needs of a growing business, supporting various functions beyond the traditional HR scope when needed.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in an HR Generalist or related role.
- Knowledge of HR practices, labor laws, and regulations in Maryland, DC, and Virginia.
- Familiarity with visa sponsorship processes and employment of non-USA citizens.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to meet occasionally in the Gaithersburg office.
Preferred Qualifications :
- HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP).
- Experience working in a tech or data-focused organization.
- Familiarity with project management practices.
