About the job:
We are currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist to "COMMAND the FLOOR" as we embark on the next phase of our long history. 2025 will be an exciting year of change and growth for us! We need a seasoned office support expert to ensure our EOE compliance, benefits administration, payroll, employee relations and growth initiatives. You will be responsible for constant communication with the leadership team, staff and outside benefits vendors. Payroll (35%)
- Review all labor hours daily for all employees and follow up with managers for those employees with time not posted, punches for hourly employees that are missing, inaccurate or under question.
- Process weekly payrolls for all employees, all locations. This includes accurately adding, deleting and maintaining all employees in Paychex Flex.
- For all payroll changes, ensures proper documentation is received to direct any changes in payroll for employees.
- Enters all payroll information into payroll system timely with 100% accuracy. This includes all additions and changes, benefit data entry, and any other data entry as it pertains to payroll.
- Maintain accuracy of data in Syteline.
- Adding new State agencies to Paychex (Unemployment, Withholding, Workers Comp)
Benefits Administration (35%)
- Manage all aspects of benefits administration, paperwork and processing for employees – benefit enrollment, changes to benefits, monthly invoice reconciliation.
- Assis in the review and analysis of data related to renewals for all benefits.
Employee Relations (10%)
- Assist in administering paperwork for employee annual reviews, training, follow up for timing of reviews.
- Conduct investigations into employee incidents that violate company policy for VP review and action.
- Assist managers with employee disciplinary issues to ensure manager and employee understanding of policy.
- Schedule, implement and manage employee activities/ events to increase morale; conduct minimum of one event per month that touches areas of employee engagement, charitable opportunities, and/or retention.
- Track disciplinary issues.
- Conduct exit interviews.
- Utilizing exit interview data, identify programs for review and approval to target employee retention.
Administration (15%)
- Maintains employee folders (hard copy and electronic form), Syteline ERP data and Paychex database.
- Complete monthly HR reporting spreadsheet.
- Complete monthly union reports for Northwest and Western Conference.
- Complete quarterly Nevada business tax return.
- Complete quarterly disability reporting.
- Complete monthly reconciliation of benefit invoices.
- Complete termination paperwork, including exit interview.
- Complete benefit administration utilizing Paychex. Maintain new hires, qualifying events, open enrollment and terminations within the system.
- Track exit interview data.
- Maintain accurate records and postings to ensure compliance with all Federal and State laws.
- Educates employees of any eligible leaves; Workers Compensation, Disability, FMLA or PFL.
- Create and adhere to Human Resources Company Calendar to ensure completion of key areas of focus to ensure legal compliance.
- Create, manage and update all Standard Operating Procedures and job aids for all human resources activities and work.
- Maintain filing of employee documentation on the k drive.
- Complete unemployment responses for review and approval.
- Complete employment verification requests.
- Ensure timely updates to policies and handbook annually
- Complete Rochester Chamber of Commerce Surveys
Onboarding (5%)
- Conduct new hire orientation.
- Prepare all new hire payroll and policy paperwork.
- Onboard new hire in Paychex.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources generalist experience in an entrepreneurial company.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources organizational development or other relevant discipline preferred.
- Proven leadership skills necessary.
- Experience should include functioning in a role of similar scope and complexity.
Other Skills:
Displays useful knowledge of best practices around the design and implementation of effective roles, structures, and management systems. Strong business and financial acumen, with experience in measurement, data analysis and interpretation. Demonstrated leadership skills such as organizing, problem-solving, planning, communicating and decision-making necessary for effective management. Working knowledge of Federal and State regulations affecting benefits, recruitment and employee relations programs (e.g. ERISA, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, PFL)
Computer Skills:
Paychex Flex: Intermediate Skill Level in all areas of the Paychex Flex platform. Hiring, Onboarding, benefits, 401k, and Payroll systems.
Microsoft Outlook: Intermediate Skill Level
Microsoft Word: Intermediate Skill Level
Microsoft Excel: Intermediate Skill Level
