Join the Human Resources and Development Division of the State Court Administrator’s Office in this full-time, temporary (through June 2027) HR Assistant position. In this role, you will process human resources transactions, coordinate virtual and in-person meetings, and provide general administrative support in a variety of HR functions.

EXAMPLES OF JOB DUTIES:
The following are examples of major job duties expected for this position to perform.
- Enter HR transaction data (such as hires, separations, leaves of absence, and pay changes) for each pay period. Provide support and guidance to HR staff across the state and review transactions entered by others to ensure accurate and complete processing within strict deadlines.
- Schedule meetings, coordinate meeting agendas and logistics, and take meeting notes.
- Provide administrative assistance to Workforce System and Administration Team HR Specialists and HR Program Manager by preparing and proof-reading correspondence, assisting with registrations and travel arrangements, maintaining files and logs, and updating internal resource sites (SharePoint).
- Oversee assigned in-house certification programs by managing enrollment, verifying completion of certification components, communicating with participants, issuing certificates, and maintaining necessary documentation.
- Participate in coverage team that provides lunch break and time off coverage for main reception desk of the Minnesota Judicial Center (approximately once per month).
- Provide suggestions and ideas for improvement of HR business processes and practices.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and Minnesota Judicial Branch policies.
TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, training, and work experience which indicates possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below will be considered.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from high school, or equivalent, supplemented by post-secondary coursework in business, human resources, or related field.
- Minimum two years of office clerical experience, preferably in a human resources or court office.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of human resources laws, practices, and procedures.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of human resources management.
- Ability to work proactively and independently with the ability to take initiative.
- Team-oriented, with a positive attitude.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing across all levels within the organization and with external stakeholders.
- Strong proofreading, editing, and formatting skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to learn other job-related software.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds, both as customers and co-workers.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality in a work setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience updating SharePoint Sites.
- Experience drafting or revising workplace policies.
- Experience entering data into an HR Information System.
SALARY:
The expected starting salary range for external candidates is $25.02 – $31.30 per hour ($52,242 - $65,354 annually). The full salary range for this position is $25.02 - $37.58 per hour ($52,242 - $78,467 annually). Starting salary will be based on the selected candidate's level of experience and related skills.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:
Position Logistics:
This full-time, temporary position is classified as a Human Resources Assistant. This position will work mostly normal business hours, Monday-Friday, and may be performed under a hybrid work arrangement with occasional requirements to work at the Minnesota Judicial Center in St. Paul, Minnesota. This position reports to the HR Program Manager of the Workforce Systems and Administration team and receives work direction from HR Specialists and the HR Director.
