A dynamic mid-sized law firm in the heart of Chicago is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Human Resources Director to join the team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various HR functions within a fast-paced legal environment. This role offers a competitive salary of $100-140k, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities of the Human Resources Director:
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the HR department
- Assist with recruitment activities, including sourcing candidates and conducting initial screenings
- Facilitate the onboarding process, including preparing and updating materials, emailing new employee information, establishing and disseminating schedules, and collecting paperwork
- Manage the employee separation process, including paperwork transmission, exit interview scheduling, and paperwork collection and processing
- Submit invoices and handle credit card reconciliation
- Coordinate employee gifts and announcements for recognitions, anniversaries, new babies, birthdays, and condolences
- Plan internal events, such as staff appreciation events, summer outings, and holiday parties
- Manage holiday recognition activities
- Serve as the liaison between firm employees and managers for Level 1 inquiries
- Assist with various daily operations of the firm and special projects as assigned
Qualifications of the Human Resources Director:
- Degree or Certificate in Human Resources or a related field is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and PDF programs
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, capable of working independently and as part of a team
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Skilled in multitasking with strong follow-up and follow-through abilities
- Excellent critical thinking skills for processing information and resolving issues
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working in a law firm is preferred
