Summary:The Human Resources department at Hachette Book Group (HBG), a leading U.S. trade publisher, is seeking an HR/Recruiting Intern to provide support in the areas of recruitment, onboarding, and employee engagement for Hachette Book Group’s HR/Staffing team, which supports employees in several US locations.

Program dates: mid-September – mid-December
Location: Hybrid - this position will be based in our NY office on a two day a week hybrid schedule. Company laptop will be provided for the duration of the program.
Weekly schedule: 21-28 hours per week
Pay rate: $16/hour
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in reviewing resumes and scheduling interviews for open roles
- Check references, generate offer letters, and assist with other onboarding processes
- Post open positions to Applicant Tracking System Jobvite, and designated websites and college career sites
- Assist in preparing for job fairs and other recruitment events
- Maintain job descriptions and other HR documents on the shared drive
- Assist in planning Community Service Day and other department projects/events
- Provide scheduling/administrative support for exit interviews, onboarding meetings, etc.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
- Desire to learn about the Human Resources profession, with a particular interest in recruitment
- Ability to multi-task and manage tasks effectively; ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills
- Must have an ability to learn different computer systems/databases easily and have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Microsoft Outlook and Teams experience a plus
