Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and guidance by overseeing talent acquisition, employee career development, succession planning, retention programs, training and leadership development
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trins new staff in the HR department
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
- Develop initiatives, policies and programs to complement existing practices and create consistency across the organization
- Oversee benefit and compensation plans to ensure cost efficiencies and attractiveness to retain top talent
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required
- 5+ years' of professional HR experience, ideally from a services-oriented business, with a combination of corporate and business unit line experience preferred
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred
- Nonprofit, grant funded organization experience (preferred)
- Effective communication in verbal and written communication skills to meet the needs of all levels of the organization
- Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work
- Thorough knowledge of employment related laws and regulations
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems
- Experience in conflict resolution, disciplinary processes, and workplace investigations
- Experience in education and coaching staff
- Experience in following and maintaining workplace privacy
- Ability to give presentations
- Strong interpersonal and consultative skills with detail orientations and ability to prioritize
- Experience in managing change and change initiatives
