Position Overview:
As the HR Director, you will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for overseeing all HR functions and driving the company’s talent management strategy. You will lead a team of HR professionals and work closely with department heads to align HR practices with the company's business objectives. This is a hands-on, on-site role requiring a strong presence to cultivate a high-performance culture, ensure compliance, and develop HR policies that support business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of HR professionals across talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and learning and development.
- Partner with leadership to align human resource initiatives with the company’s strategic goals.
- Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and programs that support organizational growth and employee engagement.
- Oversee recruitment and workforce planning efforts to ensure the company attracts, retains, and develops top talent.
- Foster a culture of inclusivity, diversity, and employee well-being, ensuring a positive work environment.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
- Lead initiatives related to employee engagement, retention, and professional development.
- Manage employee relations issues, offering support, guidance, and mediation as needed.
- Oversee performance management systems and processes, promoting continuous feedback and employee development.
- Analyze HR metrics and trends to identify and implement improvements in people management practices.
- Collaborate with department leaders to identify organizational needs and implement talent development programs.
- Ensure all HR operations are carried out smoothly and effectively on-site, maintaining a strong organizational presence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or director-level role.
- Proven experience managing an HR team and supporting senior management in a fast-paced environment, preferably in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, compensation, benefits, and performance management.
- Strong understanding of federal and state labor laws and regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills that foster a positive work environment.
- Experience developing and implementing HR policies and procedures that align with company objectives.
- Ability to work on-site 5 days a week in Maryland.
