Position Overview
The Head of Human Resources is both a hands-on and strategic business partner responsible for the direction and implementation of a people strategy. The ideal candidate will build partnerships, develop talent, offer creative solutions to organizational issues, lead culture change, and foster innovation.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Promote excellence in all HR program areas including talent management, employee relations, training and development; promote the value of diversity at all organizational levels
- Provide guidance and coaching to management and staff regarding HR related matters.
- Oversee all recruitment life cycle activities; set and reach recruitment targets; supervise Recruitment Business Partners. ensure adherence to hiring protocols
- Lead talent retention efforts, performance management, succession planning and career planning process.
- Manage employee relations issues in a collective bargaining environment; conduct investigations, provide guidance and direction to managers/leaders insuring compliance, accuracy and legally sound remedial actions.
- Ensure HR compliance, including adherence to employment laws, maintaining accurate employee documentation, conducting regular compliance audits, completing all required reporting.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration or equivalent required. PHR or SPHR certification highly preferred.
- Ten years of experience in an HR function preferred, with at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills; great team member, inspires others
- Hands-on operator and able to effectively leverage technology
- Experience working in a union environment is desirable

Pay: $115,000.00 - $122,914.00 per year
