Job Summary:
Talkov Law is seeking a skilled and proactive Human Resources Director to manage and oversee all HR-related activities within our firm. This role is perfect for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, legal environment and has a passion for managing and developing talent. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR best practices, compliance, payroll, and employee relations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruitment & Staffing: Oversee the recruitment process, including job postings, interviews, and onboarding of new employees.
- Employee Relations: Act as the main point of contact for employee concerns, managing conflict resolution, and fostering a positive work environment.
- Compliance: Ensure the firm's HR practices comply with all federal, state, and local regulations, including maintaining up-to-date employee records.
- Policy Maintenance & Development: Develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures in line with the firm's goals and legal requirements.
- Performance Management: Guide managers in performance management processes, including employee evaluations, feedback, and development plans.
- Training & Development: Identify training needs and coordinate professional development opportunities for staff.
- Benefits Administration: Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
- HR Strategy: Collaborate with senior management to align HR strategies with the firm’s objectives and long-term growth.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Legal Studies, or a related field.
- Certification: SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) preferred but not required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a Human Resources role, preferably in a legal or professional services environment.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of California and federal employment laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proficient in Gusto HR software and Google Suites.
- Experience with Clio Manage preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to immediately diffuse difficult situations and stay unbiased in conflict.

- Part-time, flexible schedule up to 20 hours, Monday to Friday position.
