Beechmont Automotive Group is seeking a human resources generalist to support our franchised automobile dealerships and the 350-plus employees that keep them running. Candidates for the position must have human resources experience—including managing employee relations issues; administering payroll, benefits, and leaves of absence; and employee recruitment and onboarding—and a willingness to support other business functions, including accounting, compliance, IT, and more. Dealership experience is a plus, but not required. The position reports to the company’s general manager of operations and is located in the east end of Cincinnati, near Eastgate.
Primary responsibilities:
- Address day-to-day employee relations issues by providing guidance and support to employees and management; assist with resolving employee requests and complaints.
- Conduct training regarding/ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws and regulations, including those related to employment, compensation, benefits, and employee safety.
- Coordinate and manage employee leaves of absence and employee benefits, including health insurance and retirement plans.
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of employee job descriptions, pay plans, and HR policies and procedures.
- Investigate/assist with responses to accommodation requests; allegations of harassment and other misconduct; unemployment claims; workers’ compensation claims; EEOC charges, etc., working with counsel as appropriate.
- Post job openings, coordinate recruitment efforts, and manage employee orientation and onboarding.
- Oversee weekly payroll processing.
- Prepare and maintain personnel, safety, benefit and medical files.
- Keep informed regarding developments in federal, state and local laws and regulations; conduct research as necessary.
- Provide administrative support to other departments—such as accounting, compliance, and IT—including preparing and reviewing reports and performing data entry tasks.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in human resources.
- Proficiency in HR management/payroll systems, Word, Excel.
- Strong administrative skills, including the ability to prepare and review documents.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or a related certification is preferred.
