Position Summary: The Human Resource Specialist will assist with labor relations investigations, Leaves of Absences, The Human Resource Specialist will play a key role in supporting the organization’s HR functions. This position will assist with labor relations investigations, ensuring compliance with policies and fostering positive employee relations. The specialist will also manage and track Leaves of Absences, providing guidance and support to employees. Additionally, the role includes assisting with Training and Development initiatives to enhance employee skills and productivity. The specialist will utilize Data Analytics to generate insights that drive decision-making and improve HR processes. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and skilled in balancing multiple HR responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handles routine labor relations and human resource inquiries related to policies, procedures, refers complex matters to appropriate management staff.
- Serves as the initial contact and liaison for intake and assessment of employee complaints.
- Conducts initial interviews and gathers information for employee relations matters such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other concerns; informs appropriate HR staff when additional investigation is required.
- Assists with recordkeeping related to hiring, termination, leave, transfer, and promotion particularly as related to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), affirmative action, and diversity initiatives.
- Maintains knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations related to EEO, affirmative action, labor relations, and human resources.
- Assists with preparation of documents, and reports including EEO-1, affirmative action plans.
- Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements for compliance.
- Communicates with employees regarding their needs for leave and/or modified work schedules. Ensures that employees are aware of their responsibilities and of any documentation and notice required to qualify for and to take leave.
- Handles the FMLA leave administration process from the employee’s initial notice of the need for leave to the return to work. This includes gathering and completing all required paperwork,
- determining leave eligibility, designating leave as FMLA-qualifying, requesting medical certification as needed, and accounting for intermittent and reduced schedule leave use.
- · Oversees the return-to-work process for employees returning from extended FMLA, workers compensation, or other leave(s).
- Analyzes data and statistics for trends and patterns with attention to recruitment, hiring practices, motivation, turnover, and compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Prepares reports of data results, presenting and explaining findings to senior leadership.
- Identifies and recommends reasonable short- and long-term goals, milestones, and benchmarks for key performance metrics.
- Based on metrics and analysis, makes recommendations for policies and activities to improve the organizational culture including suggestions to attract and hire qualified candidates, to motivate and retain employees, to address staffing issues, and to maintain legal compliance.
- May conduct or assist with conducting classification audits to ensure that jobs are properly classified as exempt or nonexempt.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree, Associate degree will be considered
- HRIS Experience
- Microsoft Suite Applications

Full-Time, Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
