Hastings Insurance is currently looking for a Senior Human Resources Coordinator! This is a great opportunity to join an engaging team and provide project, research, analysis, compliance, and administrative assistance in support of our company's goals and objectives.

Position Location & Work Format

This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position that will work within our standard office hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
This role will be a hybrid of remote (work from home) and in-office work at our Hastings, Michigan corporate headquarters.

Position Duties & Responsibilities

Compliance
- Administers leave requests in accordance with regulations and Company policies.
- Assists with ACA administration.
  - Compliance testing
  - Eligibility determination
  - Annual reporting
- Completes EEO1 Report annually
- Works with vendor to complete NDT on benefit plan annually.
- Studies new and existing legislation and advises management of necessary action.
- Recommends company policy updates.
- Conducts department audits as necessary.
- Advises team on department document retention requirements.
Employee Relations
- Establishes and maintains positive employee relations through networking with Hastings managers and employees.
- Serves as an internal HR representative and/or chairman on select employee committees.
Administrative Support
- Maintains HRIS database as needed and processes new hires, terminations, and other status changes.
- Assists with the performance review process.
- Develops spreadsheets and correspondence (offer letters, welcome letters) as needed.
- Develops and maintains business intelligence reporting as requested by leadership.
- Maintains and updates job descriptions.
- Composes and types general correspondence, miscellaneous memos, and special projects.
- Answers employee questions regarding HR policies and procedures.
Special Projects
- Conducts research, analyzes data, and prepares reports as necessary.
- Participates in and/or leads HR or Hastings Insurance corporate projects utilizing company Project Management methodology
Actively participates in professional development, i.e. continuing education or self-improvement.
Other duties as assigned by leadership, either verbally or in writing.

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Management, Organizational Development, or equivalent work experience.
One to two years minimum of experience in a Human Resources role.
Excellent demonstrated verbal and written communication ability.
Demonstrated PC skills, including advanced use of Microsoft Office products.
Ability to multi-task due to interruptions, delays, priority changes, and adjustments.
